WALK WITH ME and go on a journey guided by Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh, Nobel Peace Prize Nominee and the Father of Mindfulness, together with the narration by Benedict Cumberbatch of SHERLOCK and DOCTOR STRANGE.
Followed by millions, Thich Nhat Hanh is one of the most influential spiritual leaders around the world. Based in France, he founded Plum Village and grew a community where practitioners have no apartment, no car, no credit card, and neither mobile phone. Living a life signed up to consciousness, they have unloaded possessions as well as insecurity, fear and rage. On the other hand, they let “mindfulness” centre in their daily life: how they eat, how they walk, how they sit and how they love, and open themselves to deep relaxation.
With unprecedented access over three years’ time, WALK WITH ME goes deep inside the community and captures precious moments including Thich Nhat Hanh himself answering in his heartfelt language the hardest questions of life from the crowd. The practitioners “walk” into the city, while most people in the city “run” and never rest their body and soul, let alone reflecting on the nature of their tiring days. Those who walk mindfully enjoy genuine joyfulness. The film also extends the focus to some of the practitioners reuniting with their families. Each reunion is filled with laughter, tears and hugs, lining up a series of moving stories.
Always touched by the teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh, Benedict Cumberbatch delivers in the film with his charming baritone voice the master’s journals FRAGRANT PALM LEAVES, giving this delicate film an even more poetic rendition.
